• Look at / Stare at: You look at a painting. You stare at someone if you are angry or if they are very strange. ‘Stare’ is more intense.

• Say / Tell: You say something. You tell someone something. ‘Tell’ needs a person.

1. “The company wants to ______ a new product next month.” (Options: do / make / launch)

   • Answer: launch. (Collocation: we ‘launch’ a product, not ‘do’ or ‘make’ for a new release.)

2. “My grandfather likes to ______ wise advice.” (Options: give / do / make)

   • Answer: give. (Collocation: ‘give advice’ is the standard form.)

3. “She was so ______ that she couldn’t fit into her old jeans.” (Options: slim / thin / skinny)

   • Answer: skinny. (Nuance: While all are possible, ‘skinny’ emphasizes being very thin, often in a negative or extreme way.)
